Our Philosophy
Welcome to The Cup Company Franchise, working in association with Nestle. Our wish is to take this brand to the top and with it our franchisees. You can become part of one of the biggest brands in the world with all the financial rewards that this will bring, simply by joining us. Our philosophy is creative and simple. Take something that works well and make it even better; nothing could be easier than that.
How Did The Concept Arrive?
The Cup Company has been operating since 2000 and the “in-cup” product came about from an idea by the Managing Director, Stewart Watson. Having worked supplying the airline industry since 1984 and spending many hours on board low cost airlines only to be offered something that resembled a plastic vending cup with warm water in it, Stewart set about designing something new that would meet the demands of the 21st century. Working with Nestle the concept soon became a reality and now over 6 million of these “in-cups” per year are bound for the commercial market from Iceland to Czechoslovakia.
We all know that in the workplace there are usually tea and coffee facilities but if you want anything else then you may have to go to the High Street to buy it and we all know how much that costs. The “in-cup” is the new solution to this problem, offering the consumer branded drinks such as Nescafe Gold Blend, Nescafe Latte, Nescafe Mocha, Nescafe Cappuccino, Nestle Aerochoc, TyphooTea, Oxo Beefy Drink, and finally Thick and Creamy Soups all at a fraction of the cost of those being supplied by the coffee shops in our towns.
Like all solutions, the success can be found in its simplicity and by maintaining that philosophy throughout the franchise model, an effective and profitable business can be built up by the franchisee.
What is the Concept?
Our franchise model works round the simple but effective way of reaching people at work with snacks and beverages. We do this by means of sighting branded boxes in business premises, filled with our range of snacks and beverages. These boxes are usually left in the care of a nominated person, who normally becomes the point of contact within that company and who also ensures that the money is placed in the can provided.
The concept is not new, in fact it has been around for quite a few years, but what makes our box different is the fact that we supply a service to our customers, which is neither an indulgence nor a charity box. The customers soon recognise the benefits of having these snacks available without the cost of a vending machine and as they are available all day long there is no necessity for the staff to leave the premises.
With the Nestle branding of the boxes there is also a high degree of customer satisfaction. They are aware that the box will only contain quality items synonymous with that brand and any additional items that we do put into the box must also meet the same high standards.
Our Nestle range is also complimented by a range of cakes, crisps, and slices along with other snack products, which again are recognised brands. Combining the Nestle snacks with the Nestle “In-Cups” it provides the customer with an ideal snack service.
The “In-Cup” Beverage System.
For our franchisee to grow, we recognise that other potential markets must be available for expansion and therefore to meet this requirement we have developed a new hot drinks system that includes our range of “in-cups,” which can be sold to various outlets supplying this “To Go” market.
Many places recognise the value of having a hot drinks service but do not want to be burdened with the cost of a ground coffee machine and all the problems associated with it. Our unique system meets all the demands that these outlets require at a fraction of the cost and with the branded “in-cups” range, the consumer is assured of a quality beverage every time at a low cost.
We have identified markets for this product range and these will be available to sell into within the boundaries defined in the franchisee agreement. The additional cash income generated by the direct sales of these “in-cups” will create more income for you, the franchisee and is included in our projected earnings forecast.
How Much Will I Earn?
The earning potential is very much based upon your own ability. What is important is that you, the franchisee, have not only a viable business but also a decent quality of life that will allow you to spend that bit of extra time enjoying what you have worked for. In our calculations we have taken this into account so that you will not have to run round the countryside covering vast areas to make ends meet. We have structured the sales outlets in such a way that you will have different earning streams that will allow you to maximise your sales within your own geographical area.
The figures below represent what may be achieved on a yearly basis and whilst they accurately reflect the costings, each area will have variations. Remember the more the commitment, the more your earnings are. The financials below are based on the placement of 150 boxes, plus additional sales to other outlets for a period of 50 weeks in a given year.

COST OF SALES - £74,580
GROSS PROFIT - £57,620

Brand identity is essential and all franchisees will be made aware of its importance to their own company. And the future?
To us the franchisee is as important as the “brand”. It is impossible to operate without either party. Involvement of the franchisee in building up a business is essential, as is keeping them aware of on-going developments. Modern communication means that this can be done effectively and swiftly but it also allows it to be a two way thing. Support is essential and maintaining contact both by electronic means and also with periodic visits and meetings, ensures that the franchisee is not alone. Our team is here to solve any problems and to assist you where necessary.
It is essential that as a franchisee you consider “where do I want to be in three years or five years”? Making sure that communication channels remain open, both the franchisee and the franchisor can develop new ideas, new products and make changes where necessary so that both parties can see the business develop and meet those requirements of the future. To be involved with the Nestle brand will ensure the continued growth of your business. |
